Elfsong Tavern |
Overview[edit | edit source]
Although it may have been a legitimate business in the past, currently it serves mostly as a front to hide the Murder Tribunal.
Its entrance can either be lockpicked, or a key used if the party killed Dolor. The party must walk into the back office room and remove the "Butterfly on Skull" painting at X: 87 Y: 15 to find a button. A DC 25 Perception check is required to notice that there is something behind the painting. Pressing the button reveals a secret door with the symbol of the Absolute and a red text on it which reads as following:
“All are waited, all are embraced, none shall escape.„
- Passing a
DC 20 History check to recall the text's source reveals that the text is Bhaalist in origin.
- Passing a
DC 20 Investigation check to examine the red symbol blazoned on the door reveals that the same symbol was used in some murders that have recently plagued the city.
The two checks are mutually exclusive, if one is passed the other becomes no longer available. However the only way to get past this door is to know the passphrase, Sicarius, found on Dirge of the Unholy Assassin. It can be obtained by:
- Looting or pickpocketing Dolor
- Learning from Olfaith Olumssdottir, after killing two murder targets listed on the
Bloodstained Parchment
- If Gauntlet Devella Fountainhead is killed in the Facemaker's Boutique, casting on her to reveal the location and passphrase required to enter.
Immediately upon entering the basement, a sign can be read which says, "Flaming Fists this Way." This area is heavily trapped with grease barrels which alight if the party enters that way. Instead, the party should remain on the brick path on the right and enter the door to the antechamber of the Murder Tribunal at X: -1302 Y: 519.
