Arkleia Oloril

“The people used to respect the Fist. Now they call for the Steel Watch. Hmph.„
Involvement[edit | edit source]
Arkleia Oloril resides in the Flaming Fist Office, in the off-limits section guarded by a Steel Watcher, accompanied by Manip Cragbender.
When first approached, the Quartermaster grumpily tells the party to clear off. However, she can be convinced to act as a trader, and shows her stock of goods if the player character uses one of following dialogue options:
- Player Character: Gortash himself told me to speak with you about my requirements. Were you not informed? (requires
DC 10 Deception check)
- Player Character: What if I were to pay for, say, a 'trading license' first? (requires
DC 15 Persuasion check AND 500
Gold)
- Player Character: Either you trade with me, or I suggest you start running. (requires
DC 18 Intimidation check)
Alternatively, the speaking character can use Potion of Mind Reading to discover that Arkleia is in a bad mood, ruefully thinking of the Steel Watchers that take over the duties from the Flaming Fist. If the Steel Watch Foundry is destroyed, Arkleia then speaks of the automatons with gloat, hoping that the people now would take their woes to the Fist again.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- Despite belonging to the Flaming Fist, Arkleia Oloril has the stats of a level 1 human commoner and is armed with a common Shortsword only.
- While being human herself, throughout the dialogue (and if her thoughts being read) Arkleia curses both Gortash and the Steel Watch in Infernal, calling them "mragreshem". Save for her, this word is used within the game by Tieflings only and, according to various devnotes in dialogue files, can be translated as "shithead".
